Propose a Project

Your Creative Vision Can Change the World

The best ideas come from our community. Whether you’re dreaming up a neighborhood mural project, a skill-sharing workshop, a stitch-in event, or a creative mutual aid initiative, we want to hear about it. Our most impactful initiatives often start with a single community member saying, “What if we…?”

What projects are eligible?

We’re looking for craftivism and art activism projects that:

  • Align with our progressive values.
  • Use art as a vehicle for positive change.
  • Are realistic to execute (though we’re not afraid of ambition!).
  • Engage our community in meaningful ways.

Who can propose a project?

Anyone can submit a project idea! While all of our members (Craftivists, Provocateurs, and Visionaries) are encouraged to share their concepts, you don’t need to be a member to propose something amazing.

How do I propose a project?

Step 1

First, download this document. It contains more information about the proposal process (plus some insider tips!) and all of the questions on our online application form. Use the document to draft and refine your answers.

Step 2

When you’re happy with your responses, use the button below to access the form. Paste your answers into the appropriate boxes, hit Submit, and you’re Gucci.

What happens after I apply?

You’ll get an email from our Executive Director confirming receipt of your application, then your proposal goes directly to our board for review at our next quarterly meeting. If the board agrees to proceed, we’ll reach out to develop your proposal into an actual plan. Selected projects receive organizational support, which may include funding, materials, promotion, volunteer coordination, and space (virtual or physical).
